Asking for directions
If you are in town alone in foreign country and you don't know where to go, these phrases below must be useful for you. Ok, let's notice:
1. Can you direct me to the mall? (Dapatkah anda menunjukkan arah ke mall?)
2. Can you tell me where the bank is? ( Bisakah anda memberi tahu saya di mana ada bank?)
3. Could you tell me the way to ....? (Dapatkah anda memberitahu saya jalan ke ....?)
4. I need direction to go to.....( Saya perlu petunjuk untuk pergi ke.......)
5. Is there a post office close by? ( Adakah kantor pos di dekat sini?)
6. How do I get to .....?(Bagaimana saya bisa tiba di.....?)
7. Which direction is it to the hospital? (Arah mana yang menuju ke rumah sakit?)
8.I am looking for the public telephone. Do you know where is it?(Saya sedang mencari telepon umum. Tahukah anda telepon umum ada di mana?)
9. Do you know of any hotel around here? (Apakah anda tahu adakah hotel di sekitar sini?)
10. How far is it? (Seberapa jauh?)

Giving Directions
If someone comes to you and asks you how to go somewhere....what will you say?
These phrases must be useful for you:
1. Go past the bank. You will see......(Lewati bank itu. Anda akan melihat.....)
2. Go all the way down Jalan Mawar, then turn left into Jalan Kebon Sirih. ( Ikuti jalan Mawar lalu belok kiri ke Jalan Kebon Sirih )
3. Go along this road until you come to the junction of  Palem Road. ( Ikuti jalan ini sampai anda menemukan simpang tiga dari Jalan Palem).
4. Go stright to the mall, past the fountain. ( Terus lewati mall dan lewati air mancur).
5. Out of the hotel, then turn right. ( sekeluarnya dari hotel, lalu belok ke kanan )
6. Go along the street / walk down the street. (Ikuti jalan ini )
7. Follow this street until you come to a traffic light/an intersection/a crossroads/ a junction. (Ikuti jalan ini sampai anda menjumpai lampu lalu lintas / persimpangan )
8. Turn right when you go out of this building. Then, you keep going until you come to a bank on the left. Don't turn right because that's a dead end. ( Belok kanan ketika anda keluar dari gedung ini. Lalu, teruslah berjalan sampai anda menemukan sebuah bank di sebelah kiri. Jangan belok ke kanan karena itu adalah jalan buntu).
9. Use the overhead bridge to cross the street. ( Gunakan jembatan penyebrangan untuk  menyebrangi jalan).
10. What you are looking for is two blocks down the street. Take U turn. Then, you take the second road. Take the third turning on the right. ( Apa yang anda cari adalah dua blok dari sini. Putar kembali. Lalu, anda ambil jalan kedua. Ambil belokan ketiga dari kanan).

How? I hope you won't get lost, even if you are a newcomer in a big city, because you know what to say.
